Choose one of the following topics:

1.        Explain the evolution of Ramatoulaye from the time when she learns of her husband’s second marriage until the arrival of Aïssatou.

2.         How are the men in So Long a Letter  portrayed?  Are they very different from American men?  Explain.

3.        What choices does Ramatoulaye have?  How does she choose?  Do you agree with her choices? 

4.         What could Meursault have done to avoid being convicted of murder?  Why didn't he do these things?  

5.         Explain the change in Meursault just prior to his execution.
