In studio class we will use the first 15 minutes to warm up. We will do tone exercises. Then continue with full scales trying to achieve 120 to the 16th note.  I will assign 2-4 scales major and harmonic minor scales for each session.

The flute studio class will focus on ensemble playing.  The first hour of the class will be devoted to large ensemble. The second hour we will break in to smaller ensembles.  The purpose of ensemble playing is to work on sight reading and intonation.

Once a semester we will devote the entire two hour session to each flutist performing their solo in front of the studio class.  The students will evaluate the soloist on a form that I will provide.  This is not to criticize the fellow flutist; but to support and give assistance towards each flutist's performance becoming the best it can be, according to their level of playing.
 

A one page paper will be due 4 times a semester.  Please do not copy/paste from the internet.  I will trust your conscience on this.
