Please complete one form per request. A submitted request does not guarantee a session confirmation. Confirmation of your scheduled instructional session will be sent to the email address you provide on this form. Requests made two weeks in advance increase the likelihood of receiving your preferred session choice and provide the librarian with adequate preparation time.  For a more focused library instruction session, please email your assignment to kmkroll@svsu.edu

What type of session would you like to schedule?

To provide a thorough library instruction session, 75-minutes class time is recommended for each session listed below.

Session Summaries

 : Recommended for first-time library users. Includes: a library & STC tour, LC classification & call numbers, overview of the library's organization & website, basic CardCat searching with practice exercise, and a basic definition of a research process. [75-minute session]

: Recommended as a sequel to Introduction to Zahnow Library. Includes: developing a research strategy, using Boolean operators, provides hands-on practice to two-periodical databases, distinguishes periodical types, covers the peer-review process, basic research terminology, and evaluation of information and websites.  Practice worksheet included. [75-minute session]

 Point of Need Instruction : Designed for upper-level courses, this session provides specific instruction focused on completing a class assignment or project. [Minimum 50-minute session; OR 75-minute session - SEE: selections under "Build Your Session"
