"Homecoming/Coming Home"

On Wednesday, June 26, from 9 am - 4 pm, past participants of the 2016 and 2018 Vada B. Dow Writer's Workshop for Area Teachers are invited to bring another teacher/colleague to the "Homecoming/Coming Home" event at the Dow Home and Studio, taught by Anne-Marie Oomen.  Join us for a day of writing  and learn more about the joy of being a teacher who writes.  Lunch is provided, and SCECHS are available.  For more information, see our Homecoming Flier (4,907KB)

"Writing the Way: Developing Creative Writing in the Classroom"

In summer 2019, on August 5-9, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, we are offering TE 601: "Writing the Way: Developing Creative Writing in the Classroom."  This workshop will feature instruction and discussion in the morning focused on best practices for fostering creativity in writing for K-12 teachers, and it will allow participants to teach creative writing exercises to middle and high school students in the afternoon. Lunch is provided each day of the workshop, and SCECHS are available.
