Teacher Workshops

The Saginaw Bay Writing Project offers one-week teacher workshops every summer. Led by teachers, these workshops involve sharing best practices in the teaching of writing through responding to multiple writing tasks, engaging in group discussion, and developing lesson plans. We are fortunate to have been able to partner with individual donors and the Alden and Vada Dow Creativity Foundation to be able to offer these workshops to our K-12 teachers free of charge.

Writing the Way

In summer 2019, the SBWP will offer "Writing the Way: Developing Creative Writing in the Classroom," August 5-9, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. This workshop will feature instruction and discussion in the morning focused on best practices for fostering creativity in writing, and it will allow participants to teach creative writing exercises to middle and high school students in the afternoon. This workshop includes 25 SCECHS, and lunch is provided each day of the workshop.
